Intellectual Freedom with KCLS - hosted by SCBWI-WWA

I'm so excited to invite and moderate Brenna Shanks, KCLS teen materials selector and Rachel McDonald, KCLS Teen Services Coordinator for a special Zoom presentation on intellectual freedom. Intellectual freedom means providing every person with access to ideas and information that aligns with their values and with the FIrst Amendment right to transformation. As we all know, there has been an increase of intellectual freedom challenges across the nation. Even here in the liberal minded Pacific Northwest! Find out what rights our libraries defend and how their staff is preparing for the change in how these challenges are occurring. Learn how these challenges can and will impact the books you create and publish. This presentation is an absolute MUST for every childrens’ and youth content creator. Register at
